Join us for the 18th annual Race Away From Domestic Violence, a 5K (3.1 mile) event to benefit the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
Run, walk or roll through a scenic 5k of Downtown Indianapolis, or virtually, to show your support for survivors of domestic violence, by yourself or with a team of friends, family and colleagues.
We are offering the opportunity for any participants who do not feel comfortable participating in person to be a Virtual Runner. You choose which option is best for you: In-person or Virtually.

Run, walk or roll in-person, virtually - on your own or with a team - wherever and whenever it's safe for you to do so, and raise funds to help us end domestic violence in our state.
We need volunteers to help around the 5k course and at the start/ finish line. If you are interested in volunteering for RAFDV, click the button below to sign up.
Join a team
Teams are an important part of the success of the Race Away From Domestic Violence. Form a team with family, friends or work colleagues, or in honor or memory of someone affected by domestic violence. The top three teams who raise the most money will be recognized. Registration fees from each participant will be counted toward team totals. Your team can win by having the most people and/or raising the most money!
Team participants are encouraged to show their pride by wearing team T-shirts or anything else that sets your team apart. You will be given the opportunity to create or join a team as part of your individual registration process.
Keeping you safe
We want to make sure all participants, volunteers, and spectators feel safe and comfortable. With this in mind, social distancing guidelines will be enforced. We will follow all recommendations from the health department with regards to social distancing and requirements of face masks.
MASK REQUIREMENTS: Masks are mandatory until you begin competing. ICADV will have masks available for the in-person race. We ask that you wear a mask before and after competing. Be sure to discard your disposable mask in a trashcan at the beginning of the race.
RACE START: The race will take place in waves, with the runners starting first, followed by walkers.
SOCIAL DISTANCING: ICADV recommends you maintain social distancing recommended by the CDC. Our Emcee will politely remind participants to honor this practice to keep everyone safe.
HAND SANITIZER: ICADV will have hand sanitizer at the race for your use.
REFRESHMENTS: Self-serve beverages will be provided at different locations on the course. Finish line refreshments will be set up on tables for participants to grab and go. Individuals setting up beverage tables will be required to wear masks and gloves.
If COVID conditions do not allow us to host this event in-person, we will continue with the virtual option.

Race Away from Domestic Violence is a fundraiser for ICADV. Participants like you raise critical funds to support survivors and end domestic violence in Indiana. After you register, you can securely create a donation page for yourself or your team, or make a general donation. The top three individual fundraisers will win an award and be recognized on ICADV's digital channels.
ICADV relies on donations from supporters like you to continue our work. We are relying on these funds now more than ever to meet the emerging needs of survivors in the wake of a global pandemic. With the money raised from this event, we will be able to provide them assistance with rent, utility assistance, food, and the stable basics they need to feel safe.
